Bank of Maldives (BML) has inaugurated a new self-service banking ATM in Lh. Olhuvelifushi, marking the completion of ATM service coverage across all inhabited islands of Lhaviyani Atoll. The milestone forms part of the bank’s nationwide “Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM” initiative, aimed at ensuring accessible banking services for every community in the country.
The inauguration ceremony in Olhuvelifushi was attended by Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and other senior officials of the bank.
Speaking at the event, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said, “With the establishment of our ATM service in Lh. Olhuvelifushi, we are proud to complete our ATM network across Lh. Atoll. This milestone also signifies the completion of our ATM network, now present in every inhabited island from H.A. Thuraakunu all the way to Malé City, further strengthening our commitment to nationwide financial inclusion.”
Through this initiative, BML has expanded its reach to ensure convenient access to essential banking services across the country. The expansion in Lhaviyani Atoll underscores the bank’s broader vision to bridge financial gaps between urban and rural communities, promoting greater economic participation.
Today, BML stands as the nation’s leading financial institution with a robust presence that includes 42 branches across all 20 atolls, 193 self-service banking centres, 251 ATMs, a wide network of Agent Banking services, and advanced Digital Banking platforms. The bank continues to play a vital role in improving financial accessibility and supporting community development across the Maldives.
