Canareef Resort Maldives Culinary Team Shines at Hospitality Asia Maldives Global Culinary Challenge 2024

The culinary team from Canareef Resort Maldives has brought pride and prestige to the resort with an impressive showing at the 2024 Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives Global Culinary Challenge. Held at Dharubaaruge in Malé, this prominent culinary competition saw the resort's chefs secure an astounding 17 medals across multiple categories, a testament to their culinary artistry and dedication.

The Hospitality Asia Maldives Global Culinary Challenge, endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), is widely regarded as the region’s most prestigious culinary competition. It gathers chefs from over 100 resorts, hotels, and restaurants, all vying to demonstrate their culinary skills and innovation before an esteemed international panel of judges. The event offers a valuable platform for culinary professionals to gain global recognition and refine their craft through expert feedback.

Upon their return, Canareef’s culinary champions were greeted with a celebratory reception at the jetty, followed by a special gathering at the resort’s Meera Bar. Assistant General Manager Deepak Kannan led the celebration, praising the team’s hard work and dedication and acknowledging their contribution to Canareef’s reputation for culinary excellence. Refreshing welcome drinks and a heartfelt address made the event memorable, honoring the team’s commitment to elevating the guest dining experience.

The talented chefs from Canareef excelled in a variety of categories, with highlights including a Gold Medal in the Hot Cooking Beef category, two Silver Medals each in Hot Cooking Lamb and Hot Cooking Beef, and additional Silver Medals for Hot Cooking Chicken, Hot Cooking Seafood, Artistic Showpiece, and Plated Appetizer. Bronze Medals were awarded in multiple categories, such as Team Event Hot Dessert, Hot Cooking Lamb, Hot Cooking Seafood, Fruit & Vegetable Carving, and Creative Bread Display.
