Lily Beach Resort & Spa has
emerged victorious at the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives (FHAM) Global
Culinary Challenge and Exhibition, held from September 23rd to 25th, 2024. The
resort’s talented culinary team secured multiple awards, underscoring its
reputation for world-class dining experiences, according to the Maldives
Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
The prestigious competition brought together top culinary professionals from across the Maldives, with Lily Beach’s chefs showcasing their creativity and skill. Chef Nuwan Taranga, Chef de Cuisine at Lily Beach, led the charge by winning the Top Gold Medal for Best Italian Chef. In addition to this impressive achievement, Chef Nuwan also took home a Silver Medal in the Sea Food – Hot Cooking category, another Silver for Traditional Italian Main Dishes, and a Bronze Medal in Lamb Hot Cooking.
The success extended to other
members of the team, as Chef Muhammad Rafly Sofyana, Chef de Partie, won a
Silver Medal for Poultry Hot Cooking. Meanwhile, Chef Sachith Ushan
Samarathunga, Commis, earned a Silver Medal in the Dress the Cake (Pastry)
category.
These awards highlight the
culinary expertise that defines Lily Beach’s dining experiences, which are
well-known for being both innovative and tantalizing. The resort has long been
celebrated for its signature All-Inclusive Platinum Plan, offering guests a
diverse range of world-class culinary options through its four distinct
restaurants and four bars.
At Lily Maa, weekly themed
dinners provide a variety of options, including exquisite cheeses, live cooking
stations, a dedicated children’s corner, and a gluten-free section, catering to
all preferences. AQVA Bar transforms its offering in the evenings with a
Teppanyaki station, while Vibes offers light meals and drinks throughout the
day. Vibes also serves as a hub for weekly entertainment, featuring live music,
DJ nights, cultural events, and karaoke sessions.
Les Turquoise D’Aqua, the
adults-only infinity pool and bar, is home to Lily Beach’s fine-dining
experience and recently won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2024 for its
extensive selection of over 70 premium wines.
The FHAM Global Culinary
Challenge is one of the Maldives’ most prominent culinary competitions,
showcasing the best in talent and creativity. This year’s edition was fiercely
competitive, but Lily Beach’s culinary team rose to the occasion, solidifying the
resort’s position as a leader in luxury dining in the Maldives.
