Ooredoo Maldives has announced a new strategic partnership with e-commerce platform eeezap, enabling customers to make digital payments through the mFaisaa platform from 1 December 2025, in a move aimed at strengthening cashless transactions and expanding convenient payment options across the Maldives.
The integration
will allow eeezap users to complete transactions using mFaisaa’s secure payment
system, offering a seamless and efficient checkout experience for a wide range
of online services. The collaboration is expected to enhance accessibility and simplify
digital payments for users who rely on eeezap for day-to-day transactions.
Ooredoo Maldives
stated that the partnership forms part of its broader strategy to increase
digital payment penetration nationwide and support the country’s transition
towards a more inclusive digital economy. The company noted that enabling more
platforms to adopt mFaisaa helps streamline everyday financial interactions for
communities across both urban centres and remote islands, reinforcing its
commitment to improving digital access and convenience.
mFaisaa has
become one of the most widely used digital payment platforms in the Maldives,
facilitating bill payments, merchant transactions, money transfers and mobile
top-ups. The platform is also preparing to introduce international remittance
services, further expanding its role within the local financial ecosystem and
strengthening its value as a comprehensive digital payment solution.
eeezap, which
continues to grow its portfolio of online services, said the integration aligns
with its focus on delivering efficient, user-friendly and accessible solutions.
The company described mFaisaa as a secure and convenient payment option that
will enhance customer experience and provide greater flexibility for its
expanding user base.
Both companies
highlighted that the partnership supports national efforts to encourage digital
transactions and reduce reliance on cash. They emphasised that mFaisaa operates
with strict security standards and real-time monitoring systems to ensure that all
transactions remain safe, reliable and fully compliant.
As digital
transactions become increasingly embedded in daily life across the Maldives,
the collaboration between Ooredoo Maldives and eeezap reflects a broader
industry shift toward strengthening financial inclusion and leveraging
technology to improve customer experience and modernise payment systems
nationwide.
