Maldives Tourism Awards 2025 Honors Excellence in the Nation’s Leading Industry

The 3rd Maldives Tourism Awards ceremony was held on Saturday night at Barcelo Nasandhura, celebrating outstanding contributions within the country’s tourism sector. The prestigious event brought together numerous industry stakeholders and service providers to honor achievements in Human Resource Development, Community Empowerment, and Environmental Protection.

A total of ten awards were presented to eight tourism service providers, recognizing their commitment to excellence and sustainable practices. The award recipients included Joali Maldives, Conrad Maldives, Joali Being, Jen Hotel, Kaani Hotels, Triton Prestige, Voyages Maldives, and Best Dive.

The ceremony also featured the Excellence Award, jointly presented by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, recognizing exceptional travel agencies, resorts, and dive centers. Applications for the awards were evaluated by a three-member expert panel with experience in the respective fields.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Tourism Thoriq Ibrahim highlighted the importance of acknowledging the dedication of those who drive the industry forward. He stated that recognizing the efforts of tourism service providers brings great satisfaction to the Ministry and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding investments, enhancing institutional frameworks, and ensuring the sustainable development of the sector.

“This government is working hard to expand investments in the tourism sector, advance the industry, and formulate the necessary institutional framework,” Minister Thoriq said.

The Minister also revealed that future editions of the Maldives Tourism Awards will include new categories to acknowledge contributions toward women’s empowerment and the promotion of Maldivian culture and handicrafts, as well as recognize individual professional achievements within the industry.

For this year’s awards, the Ministry received 84 applications from 43 tourism facilities competing across 19 categories, including segments for tourist resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and vessels.

Now in its third year, the Maldives Tourism Awards continues to serve as a platform that celebrates excellence, sustainability, and community engagement—hallmarks of the Maldives’ position as one of the world’s most renowned tourism destinations.
