Maldives
Airports Company Limited (MACL) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to
supporting children with autism, pledging continued collaboration and
inclusivity across all areas of its operations.
Speaking at the
opening ceremony of Art of Mind 2025—a heartfelt exhibition
organized by the Maldives Autism Association to celebrate the creativity and
talents of children with autism—MACL CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef
Mohammed underscored the company’s vision to serve as an enduring partner in
the empowerment of children with special needs.
MACL is
fully prepared to support children with autism in every possible way and will
continue to do so, stated CEO Shareef. MACL will permanently remain
an important partner of the Autism Association, with this relationship
strengthening day by day. We will respond to every call for assistance.
Highlighting the
company’s inclusive philosophy, Shareef also praised the humanitarian work of
Ilham Hussein, who has been a champion for autism awareness and support since
2010. He described her efforts as a service not just to the nation, but to
humanity as a whole.
MACL has
consistently demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility by offering
employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities and actively
supporting autism-focused initiatives. One such example includes the inclusion
of artworks from the 2023 Art of Mind exhibition in MACL’s 2024
corporate calendar, offering children with autism a national platform to
showcase their talents.
This latest
reaffirmation reinforces MACL’s broader commitment to corporate social
responsibility, particularly in fostering diversity, inclusion, and equal
opportunity within the aviation sector and beyond.
The partnership
between MACL and the Maldives Autism Association continues to serve as a model
for private-sector engagement in social development. As the organization
prepares to open the new international terminal at Velana International
Airport, its support for vulnerable communities remains a parallel priority, illustrating
a people-centered vision at the heart of its operations.
