The Maldives
Pension Administration Office (MPAO) has launched a groundbreaking scholarship
program aimed at nurturing skilled professionals for the financial sector.
The Pension Office Scholarship Program 2025, announced for the
first time, is a fully funded, merit-based initiative designed to empower
individuals to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies at top-ranked global
universities.
The program
targets fields critical to the financial sector, with a focus on disciplines
aligned with the strategic priorities of the Pension Office and the broader
needs of the Maldives’ economy. For the 2025 intake, the scholarship will
support studies in Financial Reporting and Analytics, Econometrics, and
Actuarial Science.
Open to the
general public, the scholarship offers an unparalleled opportunity for
outstanding individuals to gain world-class education and contribute to the
nation’s financial landscape. The initiative underscores the Pension Office’s
commitment to developing exceptional talent and addressing the growing demand
for expertise in key financial disciplines.
Applicants are
required to submit their completed application forms by 16:00 hrs on 16 March
2025. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews between 8 and 17
April 2025, with the final selection based on academic merit and potential to
contribute to the financial sector.
This program
marks a significant step in the MPAO’s efforts to strengthen the Maldives’
financial infrastructure by investing in the education and development of
future leaders. By prioritizing fields of study that align with national
priorities, the Pension Office aims to create a pipeline of highly skilled
professionals capable of driving innovation and growth in the financial sector.
