The Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced a new USD ATM
service in AA. Thoddoo and held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new branch on
the island.
The inauguration events were attended by President Dr.
Mohamed Muizzu, cabinet ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and
Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, Board Directors, and senior Bank officials.
Speaking at the ceremony, BML CEO and Managing Director
Mohamed Shareef highlighted the significance of expanding services in Thoddoo,
noting the island’s growing local tourism industry and agritourism sector. “We
launched our ATM services in Thoddoo five years ago and today, with the new USD
ATM, businesses and residents alike can now enjoy convenient access to USD,
without having to travel to another island. The new branch, expected to be
completed next year, will bring our full suite of banking services even closer
to the community,” he said.
With the addition of Thoddoo, BML now operates USD ATM
services in Malé City, Kulhudhuffushi City, Addu City, Velana International
Airport, and K. Maafushi.
The Bank of Maldives remains the leading financial
institution in the country, with a nationwide network of 41 branches across all
20 atolls, 144 Self Service Banking Centres, 201 ATMs, along with Agent Banking
services and advanced Digital Banking solutions.
