Ooredoo Maldives has added a new dimension to this year’s Mas Race by launching a digital version of the competition on the Ooredoo App, giving fishing enthusiasts across the country the chance to join in virtually. The interactive game went live alongside Mas Race 2025 and will remain available until 11:59 pm on Wednesday, allowing players nationwide to take part anytime and anywhere.
The Mas Race
digital game mirrors the excitement of the live event, featuring real teams
competing in this year’s tournament. The rules are simple but engaging: players
select their favorite team, tap to catch fish, and earn points with every
catch. Each fish counts as one point, and participants can continue collecting
points throughout the competition period to climb the leaderboard.
Prizes for top
players include premium fishing gear from Hai Fishing Tackles, a leading
fishing tackle shop in the Maldives. The first-place winner will receive a
Daiwa Saltiga 2025 Reel, while the second and third places will each be awarded
PIO Ultimate Sea Spirit or Gangster (H/D) rods.
In a statement
issued Sunday, Ooredoo said the digital version of Mas Race is designed to
bring the spirit of the competition to a wider audience, extending the
experience beyond the waters. “This is yet another step towards building
digital experiences that celebrate our culture, traditions, and love for
fishing,” the company noted.
Hai Fishing
Tackles, known as the go-to provider for premium fishing gear in the country,
carries globally recognized brands including Daiwa, Penn, Abu Garcia, Yo-Zuri,
Zenaq, Jigging Master, Okuma, and Pioneer. Its house brand, Rankaru, has
quickly gained popularity among local anglers, with a new e-catalog soon set to
showcase an extensive range of products.
