BML Brings ATM Services to All Inhabited Islands of GDh. Atoll

Bank of Maldives (BML) has achieved another milestone in expanding financial access across the Maldives, with the introduction of Self-Service ATMs in all inhabited islands of Gaafu Dhaalu (GDh.) Atoll.

The announcement comes as BML officially inaugurated new ATM centers in Fiyoaree, Rathafandhoo, Nadella, Hoandedhdhoo and Madaveli, completing full coverage of ATM services across the atoll. The initiative was carried out under the Bank’s “Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM” program, which aims to extend banking services to every community in the country.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, along with senior officials of the Bank.

Speaking at the event, CEO and MD Mohamed Shareef said the achievement reflects the Bank’s ongoing efforts to promote financial inclusion and convenience. “It is a great privilege to be here today for the inauguration of our new ATM network, a significant milestone that marks a new chapter of financial inclusion and accessibility for the people of GDh. Atoll. Our commitment has always been to serve our communities, and with the installation of these ATMs across all inhabited islands, we are delivering on that promise,” he said.

As the leading financial institution in the country, BML currently operates 42 branches across all 20 atolls, 163 Self-Service Banking Centres, 222 ATMs, along with nationwide Agent Banking services and advanced digital banking platforms.

The expansion in GDh. Atoll forms part of the Bank’s broader strategy to ensure equitable access to banking facilities for communities across the Maldives, reducing reliance on travel for essential financial services.
