Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) presented Merit Award to four exceptional Grade 11 students from the Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).
The MACL Merit
Award, part of the company’s CSR initiative, MACL Care, recognizes two male and
two female students with the best academic results among Grade 11 students at
CHSE. Recipients are granted a laptop, a data package, and a monthly allowance
of MVR 2,000 for one year. They will also have the opportunity to gain valuable
work experience and training at Velana International Airport, operated by MACL.
This year’s
awardees are Ali Mais Mufeed, Nishya Waheed, Ahmed Raif Naseem, and Yasha Shafi
Shafeeg. The awards were presented by MACL’s CEO and Managing Director, Ibrahim
Shareef Mohamed, in the presence of CHSE senior officials and students.
Addressing the
ceremony, Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed emphasized MACL's commitment to human
resource development and encouraged school leavers to consider joining the
company. He highlighted that all technical areas at MACL are staffed by
Maldivians and encouraged students to engage actively in planning and
management to build diverse skill sets for future success.
CHSE Principal
Zuhudhul Haq expressed gratitude to MACL for its consistent support. He noted
that CHSE’s competitive academic environment is further boosted by such
recognition, motivating students to excel in their studies.
The Merit Award
is part of MACL Care’s broader mission to support education and develop skilled
individuals to contribute to national progress. Since 2023, MACL has also been
awarding cash prizes to CHSE’s Best All-Round students and providing resources to
schools across the Maldives.
