BCC and Fuvahmulah City Partner to establish a Creator Hub

An agreement to establish a Creator Hub in Fuvahmulah City was signed on 23rd  January 2025, Thursday, between the Business Center Corporation (BCC) and the Fuvahmulah City Council.

The agreement was signed at a meeting held at the BCC office, with BCC’s Managing Director, Ibrahim Ziyau Mohamed, representing the corporation and Fuvahmulah City Council Mayor Ismail Rafeeq signing on behalf of the council.

The Creator Hub will be located on the first floor of the Fuvahmulah City local market and aims to bring creative services closer to artists in the southern atolls. This initiative aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s vision of building a creative economy in the Maldives, a decision taken with the advice of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Speaking at the event, BCC Managing Director Ibrahim Ziyau Mohamed highlighted that the establishment of Creator Hubs across the Maldives would accelerate efforts to enhance opportunities for artists while addressing the challenges they face. “This is a pivotal step towards realizing President Muizzu’s vision of a thriving creative economy,” he stated.

The Creator Hub in Fuvahmulah is part of a broader strategy to decentralize creative services, with similar hubs planned for other regions. In addition to regional hubs, construction is already underway for the main Creator Hub in Malé, the capital city.

BCC has also engaged extensively with the artistic community through initiatives such as Creative Confluences, held in Malé and other islands, to gather feedback and ideas for advancing the creative economy.

The Creator Hubs aim to provide artists with access to resources, platforms, and opportunities, further boosting their contributions to the Maldivian economy and cultural landscape.
