In a move to
enhance internal training and knowledge-sharing within the organization, the
State Electric Company (Stelco) has officially launched its In-House Trainers
Pool, awarding 35 employees with Stelco Certified Trainer Licenses.
The initiative
was inaugurated today by Stelco Managing Director Hussain Fahmy, who described
the program as a milestone in developing a skilled, self-reliant workforce.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Fahmy emphasized the importance of utilizing
the knowledge, skills, and experience already present within the company to
build greater institutional capacity.
“This program
reflects our commitment to upskilling our employees by recognizing and utilizing
the talent we already have,” Fahmy said. “By investing in our own people, we
are ensuring sustainable growth and service excellence, regardless of external
challenges.”
The newly formed
trainers pool consists of employees from diverse sectors of the company,
including engineering, technical services, administration, human resources,
security, media, and public relations. All 35 trainers have completed the
internationally recognized “Train the Trainer” certification and have now been
formally licensed to conduct internal training under Stelco’s framework.
In addition to
the certification ceremony, Stelco also launched a comprehensive handbook
outlining the training modules and guidelines that will be used by the pool.
According to company officials, the handbook will serve as a central resource
for planning and delivering staff development sessions across departments.
Stelco noted
that this is only the first phase of the initiative. Plans are already underway
to expand the trainers pool by certifying more employees at the international
level. The goal, officials said, is to create a robust in-house training
ecosystem that supports continuous professional development and service
efficiency.
The program is
part of a broader effort by Stelco to maintain high operational standards and
improve employee competencies without over-reliance on external training providers
particularly significant at a time when public companies are facing budgetary
constraints.
