Bank of Maldives (BML) has strengthened its nationwide ATM network with the establishment of a new self-service banking ATM in K. Thilafushi.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, along with BML’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef and senior bank officials.
The bank said it will continue expanding its service network throughout the year by establishing new self-service banking centres, branches, and ATMs. As part of this expansion, more than 70 USD ATMs will be installed nationwide to improve access to foreign currency and enhance convenience for individuals and businesses, particularly in key economic zones.
Speaking at the ceremony, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said expanding the ATM network remains a key priority for the bank.
“Expanding our ATM network remains a key priority as we continue to enhance banking accessibility across the Maldives. The new self-service ATM in Thilafushi reflects our commitment to supporting communities and businesses with reliable, convenient banking solutions. As we progress with our 2026 expansion plans, we remain focused on delivering innovative services that bring greater ease and value to our customers nationwide,” he said.
As the country’s leading financial institution, Bank of Maldives operates an extensive network of 42 branches across all 20 atolls, 267 ATMs, self-service banking centres on every inhabited island, and advanced digital banking platforms.
The bank said it remains committed to supporting communities through innovative solutions and expanded access to financial services.
