Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has begun preparations for the upcoming peak travel season, holding an internal meeting with senior management and department heads to ensure smooth and efficient operations during the busiest period of the year.
The meeting,
held today at MACL headquarters, focused on identifying potential challenges
faced by various departments, proposing effective solutions, and strengthening
inter-departmental coordination to maintain uninterrupted airport services.
Opening the
session, MACL’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Mohamed Mihaad emphasized the
importance of preparedness, calling the meeting “the most important one held at
MACL.” He underscored that as a service provider, MACL must always anticipate
demand and deliver excellence even under the most challenging circumstances.
Mihaad
highlighted that all employees must strive to provide service that meets or
exceeds customer expectations, noting that achieving this goal requires a shift
in both mindset and operational approach. “All of the company’s resources,
employees, and their attitudes must align with our mission to deliver top-tier
service,” he said.
The cool season
and the weeks surrounding the New Year traditionally mark the busiest travel
period for Velana International Airport (VIA), with a sharp increase in tourist
arrivals. During last year’s peak season, VIA handled 7,558 flights — a record
that reflects the Maldives’ growing status as a premier global destination.
MACL has been
implementing a range of measures in recent years to streamline passenger flow,
enhance ground handling efficiency, and reduce congestion during peak hours.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high service standards and
ensuring a seamless experience for travelers throughout the upcoming season.
