Reclamation works under the Hulhumalé Phase 3 Land Reclamation Project are progressing steadily, with 62 hectares of land reclaimed so far, representing 98% overall completion.
The works are being carried out by two dredgers — Prins der Nederlanden and Oranje — each with a capacity of 22,000 cubic metres (CBM), ensuring continuous and efficient operations at the project site.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) commenced Phase 3 reclamation works on 10 November 2025. Reclamation activities at the Rasmale’ Site A officially began on 1 December 2025.
The ongoing land reclamation forms a key component of the Government’s broader infrastructure development agenda and is expected to play a significant role in supporting future urban expansion and economic growth once completed.
The project is being implemented by Peninsula Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of MACL, established to undertake large-scale land reclamation and infrastructure projects. The company is also responsible for delivering other major developments, including the flagship Rasmale’ project and infrastructure works in Dhihdhoo, reflecting MACL’s expanded role in national development initiatives under the administration of President Muizzu.
