Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed has announced that Maldives Expo 2025 will be the largest event to showcase the nation’s progress over 60 years of independence.
Speaking at the inauguration of Expo 2025, the minister emphasized that this is the first exhibition in the Maldives to be conducted in the format of a modern expo, featuring advanced tools and technology.
“The exhibition aims to provide opportunities for local manufacturers to explore new markets and develop innovative ideas by showcasing the work of international businesses, investors, and emerging economies,” Minister Saeed stated.
He further highlighted that the concept of representing all Maldivian islands and cities at the exhibition was initiated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The event is being organized under the leadership and guidance of the president in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Business.
According to the minister, applicants from 15 categories across seven constituencies will be eligible to participate. The categories include Farming, Fishing, Creative Arts, and Information Technology, among others.
The expo, which will be open to participants nationwide, aims to foster and develop the talents of Maldivian artisans through various initiatives. Organizers also emphasized that the event will serve as a key platform for connecting small businesses with larger enterprises, as well as facilitating collaboration between artisans and business professionals.
Maldives Expo 2025 will take place from May 23 to 31 at Hulhumalé Central Park. Those interested in participating can register at www.expo.mv.
